Public projects of $25,000.00 or less may be <br />performed by the employees of the city by force ac- <br />count, by negotiated contract or by purchase order. <br />B. Public projects of $100,000.00 or Tess may <br />be let to contract by informal procedures as set forth in <br />Section 22032 et seq., of the Public Contract Code. <br />C. Public projects of more than $100,000.00 <br />shall, except as otherwise set forth in Section 22032 et <br />seq., of the Public Contract Code, be let to contract by <br />formal bidding procedure. (Ord. 1916 § 1, 2005; Ord. <br />1523 § 1, 1991) <br />3.32.020 Contractors list. <br />A. A list of contractors shall be developed and <br />maintained in accordance with the provisions of Section <br />22034 of the Public Contract Code and criteria promul- <br />gated from time to time by the California uniform con- <br />struction cost accounting commission. <br />B. 'fhe community development director shall <br />each January mail a notice to all contractors who have <br />an office in the city, who have a current city business <br />license, but who are not already on the list as set forth in <br />subsection A of this section, informing such contractor <br />of the existence of this chapter and encouraging such <br />contractor to request to be put on the list. Where a public project is to be performed <br />which is subject to the provisions of Section 3.32.010(B) <br />of this chapter, a notice inviting informal bids shall be <br />mailed to all contractors for the category of work to be <br />bid, as shown on the list developed in accordance with <br />Section 3.32.020 of this chapter, and to all construction <br />trade journals as specified by the California uniform <br />construction cost accounting commission in accordance <br />with Section 22036 of the Public Contract Code. Addi- <br />(Pleasanton Stipp. No. 3, 1 -10) <br />88 <br />tional contractors and /or construction trade journals may <br />be notified at the discretion of the department soliciting <br />bids; provided, however: <br />I. If there is no list of qualified contractors <br />maintained by the city for the particular category of <br />work to be performed, the notice inviting bids shall be <br />sent only to the construction trade journals specified by <br />the commission. <br />2. If the product or service is proprietary in <br />nature such that it can be obtained only from a certain <br />contractor or contractors, the notice inviting informal <br />bids may be sent exclusively to such contractor or con- <br />tractors.
