Review Veterans Memorial Building Joint Use Agreement Between the City of <br /> Pleasanton and the Veterans Organizations of Pleasanton (VOPI <br /> Ms. Yurchak informed the Commission that the City entered into a Joint Use Agreement with the <br /> American Legion Post 237, VFW Post 6298, and VFW Post 6298 Ladies' Auxiliary collectively <br /> known as the Veterans Organizations of Pleasanton (VOP) on March 15, 2005, for joint use of <br /> the Veterans Memorial Building. The building was renovated in 2007 in order to make it <br /> compliant with Federal, State and City building code requirements. After operating for three (3) <br /> years under the existing Agreement, a new Agreement is required to address operation changes <br /> and requirements. <br /> The Commission was advised that the revised Joint Use Agreement was presented on February <br /> 23, 2010 to the VOP for review and comment. At the meeting, it was requested that the Air <br /> Force Association Chapter 120 be included into the VOP; that the language in Item 5 Joint Use <br /> of the Facility be made clearer, defining "Veterans related activities /meetings;" the addition of <br /> Item 6 Banners Displayed; and strengthening the language in Item 11 Subleasing and Non <br /> Assignability. <br /> Members of the VOP informed Commissioners that all of the groups are in agreement with the <br /> proposed changes to the Agreement. They also acknowledge Commissioner Dibiase who was <br /> a member of the Veterans Memorial Building Renovation Committee.
