BACKGROUND
The design package for the Old Stanley Boulevard Improvement Project, CIP No.
055022, was completed in 2008. The project includes construction of a new roadway
section; concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks; landscaping; decorative street lighting;
and sewer and storm drain improvements. As currently designed, the project does not
include undergrounding of the overhead utilities.
At the October 20, 2009 meeting, City Council approved a Professional Services
Agreement with Bellecci Associates in the amount of $233,608, for design and
engineering services for Stanley Boulevard Underground Utility District; authorized
using existing project funds for the consultant design and for PG &E design, plan review
and approval costs; and directed staff to initiate formal proceedings to form
Underground Utility District UUD- 09 -01. Estimated cost for PG &E's efforts on the
project is $80,000. In order for PG &E to begin the design process, the Underground
Utility District is required to be established.
COMMUNITY MEETINGS
Staff held a public meeting on March 30, 2010 to inform the affected property owners
about the project. The only concerns expressed involved construction impacts on traffic
and access. Staff informed the attendees that the construction documents would
include specific traffic control and access provisions to minimize disruption and
inconvenience. In addition, as part of their scope of services, the Bellecci Associates
team has met individually with each affected property owner to review their unique
situations personally.
Submitt by: Fiscal Review: Approved y:
DaL
rian Dolan David P.
