THE CITY OF 02 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON® <br /> June 15, 2010 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL <br /> MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2010, FOR <br /> THE ELECTION OF A MAYOR AND TWO MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF <br /> ALAMEDA TO CONSOLIDATE THE ELECTION; AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION <br /> ADOPTING REGULATIONS FOR CANDIDATES FOR ELECTIVE OFFICE <br /> PERTAINING TO CANDIDATE STATEMENTS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The purpose of November 2010 election is to elect a Mayor for a two -year term and two <br /> members of the City Council, each for a four -year term. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Adopt a Resolution calling for the holding of a general municipal election to be held <br /> on Tuesday, November 2, 2010, for the election of a Mayor and two members of <br /> the City Council and requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda <br /> to consolidate the election with the Statewide General Election. <br /> 2. Adopt a Resolution adopting regulations for candidates for elective office pertaining <br /> to candidate statements submitted to the voters at an election. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding in the amount of $75,000 is allocated in the Fiscal Year 2010/11 Operating <br /> Budget. Should estimates from the County for their services increase, staff will return <br /> for an additional appropriation during the midyear budget review process. <br />
