The Contractor also submitted "alternate" hourly rates (items 2, 3, 4, and 6) for specialty
work that is preformed less frequently. These classifications of work include after hours
emergency call -out work, tree limb cabling and bracing, and data collection and
incorporation of new tree planting sites into the inventory database. The alternate work
will be preformed at the City's discretion and comprise 1 -3% of the contract. The
Contractor has supplied the City with hourly rates for the above classifications of work,
which will be scheduled on an "as needed" basis only. Included in this project is the
requirement that the Contractor recycle 100% of all wood and chip mulch that is
generated by their work. Most all of the chip mulch that has been produced by this
project during the previous nine (9) years has been re -used by the City in street or park
planters as ground mulch.
The contract is for a one -year duration, July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. If the City is
satisfied with the Contractor's performance during this period, an option is provided to
extend the contract an additional year, up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved y:
O lPft fir w
Susan Andrade -Wax David P.
