THE CITY OF A <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT VX <br /> PL'E ASANTONa <br /> June 1, 2010 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF THE STREET LIGHT AND <br /> PATHWAY LIGHT MAINTENANCE CONTRACT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City currently maintains over 7,000 street light and park pathway lights within the <br /> City of Pleasanton. Routine maintenance and emergency repair of these lights is <br /> performed by an outside contractor. Staff solicited proposals for a new street light and <br /> pathway light maintenance contractor by posting a legal publication as well as posting <br /> the notification on the City's website and received three proposals. Team Econolite <br /> submitted the lowest qualified proposal for a flat monthly rate of $10,150. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the contract for the Street Light and <br /> Pathway Light Maintenance contract to Team Econolite as the lowest qualified bidder. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The previous contract's flat rate per pole per month was $1.56 for a total monthly cost of <br /> $10,920 with the current number of poles serviced. The new monthly cost of $1.45 per <br /> pole or $10,150 per month will decrease costs by $9,240 per fiscal year. <br />
