Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts. <br />4 <br />June 1, 2010 <br />Community Development <br />Engineering Division <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF CONSULTANT CONTRACTS FOR ON -CALL SURVEYING <br />AND COMPUTER DRAFTING SERVICES WITH THE FIRMS OF BELLECCI <br />ASSOCIATES INC., KIER WRIGHT CIVIL ENGINEERS AND LAND <br />SURVEYORS, INC., AND ALEXANDER ASSOCIATES, INC. <br />SUMMARY <br />The City has an ongoing need for land surveying and associated computer drafting <br />consulting services for various projects. City staff advertised to receive Statements of <br />Qualifications (SOQs) for these specialized services in October 2009. We received and <br />reviewed 23 SOQs from respondent firms and invited the top four for interviews. <br />Based on the firms' presented qualifications, interview performance, and responses to <br />inquiries of provided references, staff recommends that the City Council award <br />contracts to three firms: Bellecci Associates, Inc.; Kier Wright Civil Engineers and <br />Land Surveyors, Inc.; and Alexander Associates, Inc., for services between July 1, <br />2010 and June 30, 2013, for a total, aggregate not -to- exceed amount of $500,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve consultant contracts with Bellecci Associates, Inc., Kier Wright Civil <br />Engineers and Land Surveyors, Inc., and Alexander Associates, Inc. to provide <br />on -call land surveying and computer drafting services in the total aggregate <br />amount not -to- exceed $500,000 between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2013. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />No additional funding is needed to approve these consultant contracts. Funding for <br />these contracts is already budgeted under each individual Capital Improvement <br />Program project previously approved by the City Council. <br />
