13 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> 6 CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLE ASANTONe <br /> May 4, 2010 <br /> Operation Services <br /> TITLE: ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT PROGRAMS STATUS REPORT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This report is to update Council on the progress of the Committee on Energy <br /> Environment's progress since its formation in the spring of 2009. Additionally it will <br /> provide an update on the progress of Securing Energy Efficiency Conservation Block <br /> Grants through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act including elements <br /> completed and planned with the grant allocation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> This report is primarily informational in nature; however staff would be ready to initiate <br /> any guidance provided by Council for the future direction of the programs discussed. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Impacts of these programs to date have been mostly supported by grant funding with <br /> the exception of staff time and the long term impacts to the City and Community will be <br /> positive in the reduction of costs for energy. <br />
