IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $241,808 FOR DIVISION STREET AND RAILROAD AVENUE <br /> STREET IMPROVEMENTS, CIP NO. 098044 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending award of the <br /> construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Grade Tech, Inc., in the amount <br /> of $241,808. The subject project consists of removing and replacing the sidewalk, <br /> street trees, street lights, fencing, and street bulb -outs on Division Street between <br /> Railroad Avenue and Main Street, and on Railroad Avenue in front of the Firehouse Arts <br /> Center. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the subject <br /> project to Grade Tech, Inc., in the amount of $241,808. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the project contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> any required contract change orders to address unanticipated project <br /> conditions for a not -to exceed amount of $36,270 (approximately 15% of the <br /> contract). <br /> 5. Authorize the transfer of $284,375 from the Capital Improvement Program <br /> Reserve, CIP No. 068018, into the Division Street and Railroad Avenue <br /> Street Improvements project, CIP No. 098044 <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The improvements to be performed with this project will reduce current and future <br /> maintenance costs. <br />
