Public Comment <br /> Fred Norman said 5,366 Americans have been killed in these wars and asked that the Council <br /> use its influence with congressmen, senators, lobbyists, and the public to put an end to the <br /> wars. <br /> Cathe Norman read the names of the 26 American troops killed in Iraq, Afghanistan, and <br /> Pakistan since January 19, 2010. <br /> Kathy Dowding announced the launch of Pleasantonians for Peace webpage; said in addition to <br /> vigils on the second Wednesday of each month, the organization stage peaceful protests on the <br /> fourth Wednesday to oppose continued occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. <br /> Dolores Bengtson, Friends of Shadow Cliffs, said the East Bay Regional Parks District is <br /> undertaking an amendment to its Land Use Plan that would determine the future of Shadow <br /> Cliffs and requested their support in letting the District know this vision is supported. <br /> Councilmember Sullivan said this is an important and long- standing issue and that he <br /> appreciates the group's commitment to this cause. He requested that staff prepare a report on <br /> the actions of the District as well as the recommendations of Friends of Shadow Cliffs. Mr. <br /> Fialho said staff would agendize the item in March to allow the Council to provide comments <br /> before the amendment is finalized.
