Mr. Fialho <br /> confirmed and said it is criminal that these funds were shifted for the purposes of allowing the <br /> State to fund its obligation to education. He argued that $83 million has certainly not come back <br /> to the Pleasanton Unified School District over that same time period. <br /> Councilmember McGovern concurred and said the public is losing all respect for legislature and <br /> government, as a result. <br /> Mayor Hosterman said they each should be calling representatives who are running for <br /> reelection to ask what they intend to do for us over the coming two years. <br /> Mr. Fialho thanked the Council for their acknowledgements, but said he would like to tout Mr. <br /> Culver for being such an excellent steward of the City finances. <br /> MOTION: It was m/s by McGovern /Sullivan to adopt the resolution accepting the Mid -Year FY <br /> 2009 -10 Operating Budget Update and amending the FY 2009 -10 Operating Budget. Motion <br /> passed by the following vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmembers Cook- Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Mayor Hosterman <br /> Noes: None <br /> Absent: Councilmember Thorne <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL <br /> Mayor Hosterman requested the Council's input with respect to Castlewood employees. <br /> After a brief discussion Council agreed that the Mayor issue a letter to encourage continued <br /> negotiations and to agendize the matter, should the issue go unresolved. <br /> Councilmember Sullivan said the City Attorney has provided the Council with the requested <br /> analysis on Proposition 15, California 15 Elections Act, and requested Council support to <br /> agendize a discussion and possible supportive resolution for the next meeting. <br /> Mr. Lowell said he would prepare a staff report with more detailed analysis as well as a <br /> resolution tailored more specifically to the Council.
