What did you like about Youth in Government Day? (Continued) How honest and caring the shadows were. They answered every question to the best of their ability. They were fun and easy to talk to. They don't judge us kids. I might have found something else I want to do in the future. I loved being able to go back to elementary school for the day! It was fun to see what a principal does. So many volunteers! It was a wonderful opportunity to see things from a different perspective and experience something new! I really liked the discussion in the afternoon and all the new people I met. I liked how we learned the behind the scenes of the school district and being able to have our input. I enjoyed going around with my job shadow and learning new things. I really enjoyed seeing the differences between where I go to school, and Amador and Foothill. Lunch! Mr. Sparks was really fun and informative. I was never bored and I learned much more in three hours than I learn in a whole school day. I liked seeing local school /government officials doing their daily jobs. I loved my shadow, Jon Morgan, because he was straight up about the business of data processing and the ins and outs of what happens. The lunch was well prepared and our p.m. discussion was intense and genuine and the ideas shared were passionate and interesting. It taught us information that we didn't even know about. I liked job shadowing attending meetings and learning what Mrs. Golden and others do! Julie was such a wonderful shadow and a joy to work with. I would love to do this again next year!! Really opened my eyes to new opportunities! I had an amazing time touring Walnut Grove with Dr. Young. Understanding the relationship between school, Pleasanton, government and state. I really enjoyed the job shadow portion of the day. He was very interested to hear what I had to say. He had a lot of insight that was interesting. I had a lot of fun and seeing all the children at the elementary school was great. I really enjoyed my experience. I got a closer look at what elementary school is like from an administrative role. It was exciting and rewarding! I really enjoyed it in my second year! Can't wait for next year. Our group discussed school issues and we all had a passion for what we believed and you got the feeling that what was said was genuine and we all agreed on what we discussed. Second year of doing this, and it was great. Still if I could've had more time with my shadow it would've been better!
