What did you like about Youth in Government Day? I enjoyed being on TV30. Being hands -on at the school and knowing what they do. Learning what it takes to set your dream job. I loved spending time with the children and seeing the "behind the scenes" of an elementary school. Plus the food was amazing. Good shadow, great interaction, fun, accepting environment, loved discussions, thanks for great meals. I like the informational part of YIG day. The person I shadowed was full of information about the school. He seemed like he really enjoyed his job. He was very welcoming and I enjoyed it a lot. I liked my job shadow and I also liked the food. I got to see how an elementary school principal works. It was an eye opener to see how many kids can look up to one person. Productive, informational use of time. The meals were fantastic and the format was pretty good overall. That we got to learn about professions we are interested in. I liked being able to see what the average day is like for a principal at an elementary school. Got to explore a potential job! Food was great, the variety of people that I could talk to (met the mayor!), the inter school participation (I talked to a girl from Horizon!), the amount of time spent shadowing, seeing how jobs actually worked.
