This alternative would provide a mixed -flow lane direct connection from
westbound I -580 to southbound I -680 and a combined westbound I -580 to southbound I -680
and northbound I -680 to eastbound I -580 HOV lane direct connection. It would also
construct an express bus lane from the East Dublin/Pleasanton BART station to eastbound
1 -580. The estimated cost for this alternative in current 2008 dollars is $760 million.
Alternative 2. This alternative would provide a combined mixed -flow lane and HOV lane
direct connection from westbound I -580 to southbound I -680 and a northbound I -680 to
eastbound I -580 HOV lane direct connection. This alternative would provide a mixed -flow lane direct connection from
northbound I -680 to westbound I -580, and remove the northbound I -680 to westbound I -580
loop ramp connection. It would also construct an express bus lane from the East
Dublin/Pleasanton BART station to eastbound 1 -580. Alternative 3 would provide a
potentially fundable early phase to planned ultimate improvements to the 1 -580/1 -680 I/C
within the foreseeable future. The estimated cost for this alternative in current 2008 dollars
is $400 million.
Status:
A Project Study Report (PSR) is complete and awaiting final approval from Caltrans.
