MINUTES <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> January 19, 2010 <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Vice Mayor Thorne called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember <br /> Sullivan led the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the introductory remarks. He stated that <br /> Pleasanton lost two of biggest heroes over the past week with the untimely passing of former <br /> Mayor Ben Tarver and former City Councilmember DeWitt Wilson. <br /> Councilmember McGovern recalled Mr. Wilson's time on the City Council as well as his <br /> campaign button which resembled the Wilson tennis ball. She also recalled Mr. Tarver's <br /> involvement in ridge land protection and the development of the Bernal property. <br /> Councilmember Cook Kallio said she was familiar with Mr. Wilson by reputation only and that <br /> Mr. Tarver was the first elected official in Pleasanton that she could recall being so accessible to <br /> the public. <br /> Vice -Mayor Thorne said he was first introduced to Mr. Wilson when he decided to run for public <br /> office, that Mr. Wilson was a great support throughout his political career, and that he will be <br /> sorely missed. He recalled that Mr. Tarver assigned him to his first public office on the Parks <br /> Recreation Commission in 1995 and that the two worked together closely on the construction of <br /> the 50 meter swimming pool that is now at the Aquatic Center. <br /> Councilmember Sullivan led a moment of silence in remembrance of two gentlemen who did so <br /> much for the City of Pleasanton. <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> Present: Councilmembers Cook Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Vice Mayor Thorne <br /> Absent: Mayor Hosterman <br /> AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br /> City Manager Fialho said Item 19, Public Hearing: PAP -139 has been continued to February 2, <br /> 2010. <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> Administrative Services <br /> 1. Approved as submitted regular meeting minutes of November 3, 2009 and special meeting <br /> minutes of November 4, 2009, December 14, 2009 and December 18, 2009 <br /> City Manager <br /> 2. Pulled from the agenda and continued to the next available meeting Approve the <br /> Principles of Agreement between the City, Kottinger Place Task Force and the Pleasanton <br /> Gardens Board of Directors regarding a recommendation to continue the development <br /> process for a new low income senior development at 240 Kottinger Drive <br />
