Blue Agave is by far the worst offender of loud music. Their
outdoor patio in back of the establishment does not provide
any containment for the sound, and they often go past 10 pm.
Their music makes the walls in my house thump from the heavy
bass beat. This can be heard clearly in my 11 year old son's
bedroom in the back of the house.
We knew that when Barone's was given permission to extend
their hours, that others would follow. We understand that this
is the express intent and desire of the Downtown Association.
They continue to push, and it has become clear by Planning
Commission and City Council decisions, that no one will
stand up for the neighborhood.
Please note, there are 3 families on St. Mary, and Peters Avenue, with elementary aged
school children who are in bed by 8:30/9:00 and up by 6:30 or 7:00. One of the families
is a music teacher in the
Pleasanton School District. Redcoats is now asking for permission to impact my
children's education by waking my children on a schoolnight. This is not acceptable.
This is a difficult situation for downtown, in that, the largest number
of restaurants who would like to have 6 days /wk with 18 hours a day of
unrestricted music and alcohol use, are also the closest in location,
(and the densest in number) to a neighborhood. No other location
in downtown has this same set of parameters.
Please note, there are 3 families on St. Mary, and Peters Avenue, with elementary aged
school children who are in bed by 8:30/9:00 and up by 6:30 or 7:00. One of the families
is a music teacher in the
Pleasanton School District. Redcoats is now asking for permission to impact my
children's education by waking my children on a schoolnight.
Please, we appeal for the sake of the children, that this push to
allow free reign in our downtown into all hours of the night and
morning, 6 -7 days a week, be stopped.
Regards,
Karl and Brenda Sauter
