PROPOSED <br />Chapter 8 <br />Sewerage Code <br />ARTICLE 1 <br />DEFINITIONS <br />§2- 15.01.00. DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this <br />Chapter, the words, terms, and phrases used herein shall <br />have the meanings defined in this Article, unless the <br />context clearly indicates a different meaning. <br />§2- 15.01.01. APPLICANT shall mean any person, or <br />group of persons, applying for Sewer service. <br />§2- 15.01.02. BILLABLE PARAMETERS shall mean those <br />parameters, including without limitation, Flow, BOD, Capa- <br />city, SS, Volume and I /I, for which the treatment works is <br />designed to treat and for which average user charge unit <br />costs are calculated pursuant to Article 6. <br />§2- 15.01.03. BIOCHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND (BOD) shall <br />mean the measure of oxygen utilized in the biochemical oxi- <br />dation of the organic matter in a sample of Sewage for five <br />(5) days at twenty degrees Centigrade (20 C), as determined <br />by the method of testing for BOD pursuant to the Standard <br />Methods. <br />§2- 15.01.04. CAPACITY shall mean all or a portion <br />of the total Volume o£ Sewage and Industrial Waste, <br />expressed in terms of gallons per day, average dry weather <br />flow "GPDADWF that the City is entitled to collect and <br />discharge into the Treatment Plant, and which may be allo- <br />cated to Users. <br />§2- 15.01.05. CHARGE shall mean the rental or other <br />charge established by this Chapter for services and facil- <br />ities furnished by the City to any Premises in connection <br />with the operation of Sewer facilities. <br />§2- 15.01.06. CHEMICAL OXYGEN DEMAND (COD) shall <br />mean the measure of oxygen utilized in the oxidation o£ the <br />organic matter in a sample o£ Sewage by a strong oxidant, as <br />determined by the method of testing for COD pursuant to the <br />Standard Methods. <br />
