Commendation for Tri- Valley Babe Ruth Team which placed 2 in National <br /> Championships <br /> Councilmember Sullivan read from the Commendation, congratulating the team of 13 year olds <br /> who, in August, took 2 place in the National Championships. <br /> The team's coach thanked the Council for recognizing the unbelievable achievement these <br /> young men have accomplished. <br /> 11. Public Comment <br /> Doug Miller said that he, along with Fred Norman, Tracy Busher (Pleasanton Military Families), <br /> Rich Garrod (American Legion), Kathy Dowding (Pleasantonians for Peace), and Danny Sorya <br /> have put together some language for the Council to consider using during its closing comments. <br /> He read it, as follows: <br /> "The Pleasanton City Council adjourns our meeting with a tribute to our nation's men and <br /> women serving in the military. We wish to honor the memories of those who have died in the <br /> past wars in defense of our country, including those who have died in the current conflicts in <br /> Iraq and Afghanistan." <br /> Mr. Miller said the Tri Valley Veteran's Day Parade is an invaluable opportunity to teach children <br /> and neighbors about the value of service and sacrifice. He reported that the guest of honor and <br /> master of ceremonies will be Richard Pittman, a Central Valley area resident and United States <br /> Marine Veteran Medal of Honor Recipient. <br /> Mayor Hosterman thanked him for the well- crafted statement and advised that the Council <br /> would consider the request under Matters Initiated by the Council. <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br /> 12. Public Hearing: PRZ -48, City of Pleasanton Consider an application for rezoning three <br /> sites in Hacienda Business Park from the PUD -I /C -O (Planned Unit Development <br /> Industrial-Commercial/Office) District to PUD -MU (Planned Unit Development Mixed <br /> Use) District. (1) W.P. Carey site at the southeast corner of Owens Drive and Willow Road <br /> (Assessor's Parcel No. 941 2778 013 -00 and part of APN 941 2778 012 -00), <br /> approximately 11 acres; (2) BRE site at the north corner of Hacienda Drive and Gibraltar <br /> Drive (APN 941- 2778 011 -00), approximately 8.2 acres; and (3) Roche Molecular Systems <br /> site south of Gibraltar Drive between Willow Road and Hacienda Drive (a portion of <br /> APN 941 2761 003 -00), about 12.4 acres.
