R. FORDE <br /> ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF $83,857 FOR THE CONTROL VALVE <br /> INSTALLATIONS PROJECT, CIP NO. 081011 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the Control Valve Installations project, CIP No. 081011, <br /> and staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible <br /> bidder, W. R. Forde Associates, in the amount of $83,857. The project consists of <br /> replacing existing and damaged water main -line valves with industry- standard valves at <br /> various locations throughout the City. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the project to <br /> W. R. Forde Associates of Richmond, California, in the amount of $83,857. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $13,000 (15% of <br /> the construction contract), for necessary related subject project work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The replacement and upgrade of the existing infrastructure will reduce current and <br /> future maintenance problems and costs. <br />
