man Madsen and with all the Councilmen in favor of same. <br />Resolution No. 1522- - Adopted on motion of Councilman Madsen, Seconded by Council- <br />man Olesen and with all,the councilmen in favor of same. <br />The Clerk presented the matter of Soft Drink applications, stating to the <br />Council that the municipality had no special form for same and that from time to <br />time as they were needed he would have to prepare a form ,for use patterned after <br />the one used by Livermore. He asked whether it would be necessary in the future <br />now that beers, wines and liquor were back, to have these applications filed.. <br />Upon advice that same would be needed he asked that Mr. Nilson prepare the form <br />and Mr. Nilson was instructed to do so. The Clerk hsked permissioni,to .secure <br />a stapling machine for his office advising that he would be able to procure <br />one for about $3.50. The necessary permission was granted. The Clerk further <br />asked that a motion be passed paying Miss Alva Friedland for her w rk in <br />stamping the assessment and the tax bills, her charge being 010.00. On motion <br />of Councilman Amaral, seconded by Councilman Madsen and with all Councilmen <br />in favor of same the Clerk was instructed to draw the necessary warrant to <br />pay Miss Friedland. <br />Councilman Amaral spoke again with regards to street signs and it was <br />generally agreed that the signs as recommended at the previous meeting as <br />being painted on the curb should be undertaken by the municipality. Some <br />discussion followed among the councilmen with regards to buying paint and <br />municipal discounts. The Clerk was instructed to write some of the paint <br />companies and secure advise from them whether municipal discounts were <br />still being allowed or not. Councilman Amaral took up the matter of <br />a permanent sign erected indicating the way to McKinley Park. It was <br />,generally favored that a proper sign be placed and the matter was referred <br />to the Street committee for consideration and action. Also Mr. Amaral spoke <br />with regards to the street lights and. it was decided that next Sunday morning <br />that the street lights should be looked into also. <br />Mr. Glassey was in the audience and he asked permission to sneak with <br />regards to street signs and there being painted on the curb. He also advised <br />the Council that help might,be secured from SERA in painting the street <br />signs and for other municipal work.' The Clerk was instructed to correspond <br />with SERA headquarters to see if any funds were available for local use. <br />There being no further business the meeting adj urned at 9:30 o'clock <br />to meetiin regular session, Monday eveni�, Novembe 5qh at 7:30 o'clock. <br />Approved: i y Clerk; <br />Mayor <br />Pleasanton, California, November 5, 1934. <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order at 7:30 <br />P.M. on the above written date with Mayor Thomas Orloff presiding. Present <br />at roll call were Councilmen Madsen, Rivol-ta, Olesen, Amaral and Orloff. <br />The minutes of the October 1st meeting were approved as read. <br />The Clerk then read.
