52 <br />clean the rubbish off their lots after burning and also to write <br />them regarding clearing for drainage under their bridge west of <br />the sewer farm. Councilmen Mezza also requested that the Council <br />designate holidays for the Street and Water Depts. On motion of <br />Councilman Oxsen, seconded by Councilman Mezza and approved by <br />all Councilmen the following were so designated: New Years, <br />Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. <br />ASST. FIRE CHIEF George West reported that wiring on the Police <br />and Fire alarm systems on the Bank of America Bldg. were in a <br />dangerous condition. Councilman Hansen was authorized to have <br />the wiring repaired and put in proper condition. <br />FORREST ADAMS was present at the meeting and in order to satisfy <br />F.H.A. requirements for veterans' loans, requested that he be <br />given a letter stating that the Town water supply to his tract <br />East of the City Limits on Vineyard Avenue, was a permanent supply. <br />Mayor Trimingham advised him that he should refer the matter to the <br />City Attorney in so far as the Toni was limited by law to only <br />selling water out of Town at such times as the Town had a surplus <br />supply. <br />COMMUNICATIONS were received from: <br />Minnie Bairos & Family acknowledging flowers sent to J. E. Bairos <br />funeral; <br />Anna Harms Perry thanking Council for use of McKinley Park; <br />Mayor Beach of Oakland inviting participation in 4th of July <br />Celebration. <br />THE CLERK reported a complaint from Mrs. Johnson relative to fences <br />being extended to the curb line and leaving no sidewalk in Harris <br />Acres. She also requested that action be taken to stop high school <br />boys from speeding on the streets. The Clerk was directed to check <br />on regulations governing sidewalks in Harris Acres and to advise <br />Mrs. Johnson as to requirements. <br />THERE BEING no further business to come before the Council, the <br />meeting was adjourned at 10:20 P.M. to meet again in regular <br />session at 8:oo P.M. on July 7, 1947. <br />c� <br />Mayor <br />Clerk <br />\mzen*-cr <br />Pleasanton, California <br />July 7, 1947 <br />The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in regular session at <br />8 :00 P.M. on the above date with Mayor Earl Trimingham in the <br />chair.
