' Stone & Son Lab. test of sludge sample. <br />Pacific Weather -Seal Protest payment of business <br />Co., Inc. license. <br />PETITIONS RECEIVED: <br />Application for dance permit from Ladies Auxilliary of V.P.W. for <br />night of March 15, 1947. <br />RECESS was ordered for examination of Claims and Reports. <br />.ACTION 011 CLAIMS: The meeting was again called to order and on <br />motion of Councilman Iansen, , seconded by Councilman Llezza and ap- <br />proved by all Councilmen, it was ordered that Claims Nos. 515 to 546 <br />incl., amounting to 2,631.45 be paid as presented. <br />AC`?'ION ON REPORTS: All officers' reports were approved and ordered <br />filed. <br />AC`, :ION ON COI,u:IUNICATIONS: The Clerk was instructed to advise the <br />Pacific Weather-Seal Co. that the license fee collected was in ac- <br />cordance with Town Ordinances and no refund could be made. All other <br />communications were ordered filed. <br />ACTION ON PETITIONS: <br />The application of the Ladies' Auxilliary of V.F.W. for permission <br />to hold a dance on the night. of March 15 was approved on motion of <br />Councilman Brenner, seconded by Councilman Oxsen and approved by <br />all Councilmen present. <br />COLUITTEE REPORTS: <br />LAWS AND JUDICIARY: Councilman Brenner reported that a police- <br />officer had not yet been employed as additional applications were <br />expected to be filed. He advised the Council that the police would <br />stop and start the water department pumps on Sundays and in the <br />early morning when requested to do so by the Supt. of the Water <br />Dept.. He' also reported that the Valley Taxi had requested permission <br />to install a phone and taxi stand on St. Mary's Street at Main St. <br />It was decided that the Town would grant a revocable permit if the <br />owner and tenant of the building were - agreeable. • <br />STREETS AND BUILDINGS: Councilman Oxsen reported that the Street <br />Dept. would operate with a temporary marworking for the time being. <br />He advised the Council that Fred Kennedy had a used street sweeper <br />for sale for approximately ;0,000 and that it might be advantageous <br />to the Town to buy it and that he would investigate further as to <br />it's condition and usefulness. He also: discussed the matter of the <br />public ' being; allowed to use the dump at the sewer farm. It was <br />agreed that the public should not be allowed to use the dump, and <br />the Clerk was directed to :.contact Mr. Davis of the County Health <br />Dept. as to what progress was being made on providing a County <br />dump. <br />
