RECESS was ordered for examination of Claims and Reports. .ACTION 011 CLAIMS: The meeting was again called to order and on motion of Councilman Iansen, , seconded by Councilman Llezza and ap- proved by all Councilmen, it was ordered that Claims Nos. 515 to 546 incl., amounting to 2,631.45 be paid as presented. AC`?'ION ON REPORTS: All officers' reports were approved and ordered filed. AC`, :ION ON COI,u:IUNICATIONS: The Clerk was instructed to advise the Pacific Weather-Seal Co. that the license fee collected was in ac- cordance with Town Ordinances and no refund could be made. All other communications were ordered filed. ACTION ON PETITIONS: The application of the Ladies' Auxilliary of V.F.W. for permission to hold a dance on the night. of March 15 was approved on motion of Councilman Brenner, seconded by Councilman Oxsen and approved by all Councilmen present. COLUITTEE REPORTS: LAWS AND JUDICIARY: Councilman Brenner reported that a police- officer had not yet been employed as additional applications were expected to be filed. He advised the Council that the police would stop and start the water department pumps on Sundays and in the early morning when requested to do so by the Supt. of the Water Dept.. He' also reported that the Valley Taxi had requested permission to install a phone and taxi stand on St. Mary's Street at Main St. It was decided that the Town would grant a revocable permit if the owner and tenant of the building were - agreeable. • STREETS AND BUILDINGS: Councilman Oxsen reported that the Street Dept. would operate with a temporary marworking for the time being. He advised the Council that Fred Kennedy had a used street sweeper for sale for approximately ;0,000 and that it might be advantageous to the Town to buy it and that he would investigate further as to it's condition and usefulness. He also: discussed the matter of the public ' being; allowed to use the dump at the sewer farm. It was agreed that the public should not be allowed to use the dump, and the Clerk was directed to :.contact Mr. Davis of the County Health Dept. as to what progress was being made on providing a County dump.
