Highways <br />PETITIONS RECEIVED: <br />035.00 <br />40.47 <br />y`{?475.47 <br />Street cleaning in Harris Acres. <br />October quarterly gas tax <br />allocation. <br />Endorsing Federal Airport Program. <br />Closing dates for applications for <br />State funds for Public Works. <br />Locations of Proposed airports <br />contiguous to State Highways. <br />23 -B <br />Two petitions to hold dances were presented, 1 from the Veterans <br />of Foreign Wars for the night of November 16 and 1 from the Druid's <br />Circle for the night ,of November 30. <br />RECESS was called for examination of claims and reports. <br />ACTION ON C LA IMS AND REPORTS: The <br />and on motion' of Councilman Mezza, <br />approved by all .Councilmen present <br />470 to 489 incl.,amounting to 4553 <br />Officers Reports were approved and <br />meeting was again called to order <br />seconded by Councilman Oxsen and <br />, it was ordered that claims Nos. <br />.95, be paid as presented. All <br />ordered filed. <br />ACION ON PETITIONS: Dance permits as requested by the Veterans of <br />Foreign Wars and Druid's Circle were granted on motion of Councilman <br />Brenner, seconded by Councilman Oxsen and approved by all Councilmen <br />present. <br />ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: All communications were ordered filed <br />without action excepting the letter from Mrs. Maser which was to be <br />discussed later in the meeting. <br />MR. FRANK NEVIS was present at the meeting and requested permission to <br />remove a walnut tree on Angela Street at the rear of his premises at <br />Main and Angela Sts. It was ordered that Councilman Oxsen inspect <br />the tree and advise Iir.. Nevis as to what action he would recommend. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />LAWS AND JUDICIARY: Councilman Brenner stated that he had nothing to <br />report.' <br />STREETS AND BUILDINGS: Councilman Oxsen reported that the new dump <br />truck had been received on October 31. He stated that in regard to <br />-Mrs. Maser's complaint, he had inspected the street and found it in <br />as good condition as other streets of the Town with only a small amount <br />of sediment in the gutter, caused by watering gardens. The Clerk was <br />directed to acknowledge the letter and advise Mrs. Maser that Council- <br />man Oxsen would contact her at an. early date.. Councilman Oxsen also <br />.reported that 5 stop signs had been damaged on Halloween, and advised <br />that the surfacing on Angela St. between 2nd and 3rd Sts. was almost <br />beyond patching and recommended that permanent improvements be made <br />soon. Councilman Oxsen was requested to investigate the cost of curbs <br />and gutters and resurfacing for this street. The matter of charges <br />for replacing pavement removed for sewer and water openings was dis- <br />cussed and the Clerk was directed to prepare a Resolution fixing the <br />minimum charge at 410.00. <br />PUBLIC UTILITIES: Councilman Mezza reported. that a pond at the sewer <br />farm had been cleared with the use of bulldozers loaned by Mr. Carter <br />of the Henry J. Kaiser Co. an.d that there were three ponds now in <br />good condition. He also reported that the drain ditch was not yet • <br />cleaned of tulles as Layton Han if en was working his equipment at the <br />Kaiser plant and would be there for another 3 weeks. .
