There being no further business to come before the Council, the <br />meeting was adjourned to meet again in adjourned regular session <br />at 8 :00 P.M. on the 23rd of September, 1946. <br />ly <br />Pleasanton,.California <br />September 23, 1946 <br />19 <br />The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in adjourned regular <br />session at 8:00 P.M. on the above date with Maygr Earl Trimingham <br />in the chair. Roll call showed: Present, Councilmen Brenner, Oxsen, <br />Hansen and Mezza; absent, none. <br />Ordinance No. 198, fixing water rates, was introduced for a second <br />reading and was adopted on motion of Councilman Brenner, seconded by <br />Councilman Mezza, and unanimously approved by the Council. <br />Bids were opened in accordance with the published Notice to Bidders <br />for the purchase of a dump truck for Street Department use. Only one <br />bid was received, that of Sammie Evans, Ford Dealer in Livermore, who <br />proposed to furnish a li ton Ford dump truck with specified access- <br />ories for the sum of 4;2,209.27. Action on the bid was postponed until <br />later in the meeting when Mr. Evans was to be present. <br />COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVED : <br />9/18/46 C. E. Longson, C.E. Proposal to provide engineering <br />services for proposed street <br />improvements. <br />9/17/46 J. Y. Long Co.- Engrs. Offer to provide engineering <br />services.' <br />9/ -/46 City of Martinez Transmitting copy of Martinez Sales <br />Tax Ordinance. <br />ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: <br />The Clerk was instructed to advise Mr. Longson that he would be ad- <br />vised as to what work was_to be done as soon as definite committments <br />could be obtained from the County as to the extent of their partici- <br />pation in the cost of the work. <br />The letter from J. Y. Long Co. was ordered filed,, and the Martinez <br />Sales Tax Ordinance was referred to the City Attorney. <br />Mr. R. E. Ramseier, Sanitary Engineer, was present at the meeting and <br />stated his qualifications as a sanitary engineer and offered his <br />services as such. He gave a general picture of the need for improve- <br />ments to the. Town's sewage disposal plant . and offered to make a pre- <br />' liminary survey for. the sum of 000.00. <br />AUCTION ON BID FOR DUMP TRUCK: <br />Mr. Evans had arrived at the meeting and explained the various types <br />of dump bodies and hoists and the probable delivery dates. After <br />considerable discussion Resolution No. 1923 accepting the bid of <br />Sammie Evans as submitted was adopted on motion of Councilman Oxsen, <br />seconded by Councilman.Hansen and unanimously approved by the council. <br />Councilman Mezza advised the Council that a meter had been inadvertently <br />installed on the 3" main to the Forrest Adams tract east of Pleasanton, <br />but that Mr. Adams had been advised to make formal application for <br />services. <br />
