Health Dept. <br />10/30/50 Division of Highways <br />10/30/50 Safeway Stores Inc. <br />ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Laboratory analyses of water <br />Tabulation showing apportionment of <br />October 1950 quarterly payment <br />Information Sales Ordinance <br />All communications were ordered filed. <br />THE COUNCIL endorsed the Alameda County Mutual Aid, Fire Assistence Plan as <br />presented by the County thru Fire Chief Amaral. <br />HEALTH INSPECTOR DAVIS reported that the. Restaurants in Town were in good order. <br />Rodent control is being carried on as usual. Mr. Davis reported in regard to <br />Garbage Disposal site, that there were. no letters on file with the County. The <br />Mayor informed Mr. Davis that all requests thus far have been verbal with Super- <br />visor Stanley. <br />,STREETS BUILDINGS: Councilman Hansen reported the Streets were cleaned in <br />good time following the storm and that Robert Turner was hired extra to assist <br />in this work. Councilman Hansen also reported that the question-of parking had <br />again been brought to his attention and suggested to John Edgren President of <br />the Chamber of Commerce, in the audience, that he waa in favor of two hour park- <br />ing on Main Street. <br />MAYOR OXSENrequested the Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce to again take up <br />the parking problem on Main Street, with the Chamber and report to the Council. <br />DISCUSSION ON RENT DE- CONTROL in Pleasanton, resulted in the Clerk being ordered <br />to obtain the necessary forms or information from the Housing Authority Offices <br />in Oakland. <br />CITY HALL FIRE DEPARTMENT: Councilman Trimingham reported that Mrs. Stovall <br />had called him in regards :to an arch way for the enterance to the City Hall Park <br />with the words "Memorial Park" on it. And suggested that the High School be <br />asked if they could help to construct and erect same. <br />Councilman Trimingham also reported the City Hall Fire House roof's were in <br />good condition following the storm. The Pleasanton Electric Company had been <br />contacted to install an outside alarm box with the Fire House, but they,had not <br />yet made the installation, so he would get in touch with them again. <br />Councilman Trimingham asked about the deadline date for the Council to file <br />with the Housing Authority, for the purchase of Kottinger Village. <br />Mayor Oxsen stated he would contact the S.F. Office and obtain the latest in- <br />formation. Also suggested that the Council meet with the Kottinger Village <br />Commission, later in the month, to discuss the problem. <br />MAYOR OXSEN stated that Officer Donovan had been ordered to Peralta Hospital <br />by a Specialist fora kidney examination and that it was possible he would <br />have to undergo an operation. <br />MAYOR OXSEN presented Mr. Frevola's three year Audit for acceptence there <br />being no corrections or omissions the Audit was accepted as submitted <br />Mayor Oxsen said that he would obtain information as to how much it would cost <br />to have anuAccountant set up a new and more complete set of books with a regular <br />audits, as per. Mr. Frevola's recommendations. <br />MAYOR OXSEN reported that Engineer Ramsier suggested putting up a spray system, <br />to inhibit odor from Sewage Disposal Plant. <br />City Engineer Geo. Sobiela notified the Council that same had already been er- <br />ected. <br />ON MOTION by Councilman Trimingham, seconded by Councilman Abrott and approved <br />by all Councilmen present; that the Council contribute $50.00 to the Chamber of <br />Commerce for their annual Halloween Parade. <br />MAYOR OXSEN reported that following the storm many trees in Town showed new <br />cracks which added to the already dangerous situation. <br />Requested that Councilman Hansen with the Street Dept. make a survey and report <br />to the Council trees that need replacing and trimming. Those involving power <br />and phone lines would be turned over to the respective companies. <br />CHIEF OF POLICE DELUCCHI: No report but thanked the Street and Water Dept.'s <br />for their assistence during the Parade. <br />PLEASANTON TIMES requested a twenty minute parking zone in front of their Office: <br />Granted. <br />
