There were no objections to the proposal, <br />the Clerk was then requested to write Mr. Lund accepting same and that Nov. 1st. <br />to Nov. 1st. would constitute one year. <br />THE CLERK was instructed to draw up forms for the Oath to be taken by all employ- <br />ees and to keep them on file. <br />MAYOR OXSEN reported that Councilman Hewitson had been to see him and asked that <br />the Mayor notify the Board that two of the Police Officers were requestingra <br />raise. The Council agreed to confere, with Councilman Hewitson on the matter and <br />report later. <br />CHIEF OF POLICE John J. Delucchi a sign be constructed for the Jr. <br />Traffic Patrol that they could use during their hours on duty, to prohibit U <br />turns at Abbie and Main Streets. Granted. <br />CIVIL DEFENSE COORDINATOR Earl Trimingham reported that he had appointed two <br />a$sistants: F. Brenner and Harry Schackelton and that they have divided the <br />Town into four (4) 'blocks' and appointed a Captain for each and then a <br />Warden for each Street therein. Mr. Trimingham stated that he had been in <br />attendance of several meetings one of which -he was accompanied by H. Schack- <br />elton held at Lafayette an all-day meeting. <br />Mr. Trimingham requested that the Clerk be instructed to write Sacramento to <br />ascertain if the Pleasanton Disaster Council was in good standing with the State <br />Council. <br />Mr. Trimingham also reported that the Council-was to appoint five (5) men to <br />assure attendance of the Joint Cities and County Civil Defense Planning Board <br />of Alameda County. The following were thus appointed: Earl Trimingham, Mayor <br />A. W. Oxsen, James W. Trimingham, W. F. Brenner, Harry Schackelton. <br />The Clerk was instructed to write to Mr. Richard Chamberlin, Sec. pro -tem, of <br />the Planning Board advising him of those named. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2120: payment of salaries in the amount of $2,824.50 <br />for the month of October was'adopted on motion by Councilman Trimingham and <br />seconded by Councilman Hansen and approved by all Councilmen present. <br />THERE BEING no further•business to come before the Council, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 11:10 P.M to meet again in special session October 23rd. 1950 at <br />7:30 P.M. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mayor <br />Pleasanton, California <br />October-23, 1950 <br />The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in special session at 7 :30 P.M. <br />on the above °date with Mayor Oxsen in the chair. Roll call showed: Councilmen <br />Hansen and Trimingham Present. <br />Absent Councilmen Hewitson and Toney. <br />The Mayor stated that the purpose of this meeting was to appoint a Council- <br />man to replace Councilman Toney as he is to resign, but that Mr. Toney's letter <br />of resignation had not yet been received, so no action could be received. <br />THE CLERK was instructed to contact Engineer R. E. Ramseir, by telephone, and <br />request that he make an inspection of the Sewage Plant, as the Winery had only <br />one week more to operate this season. <br />9/19/50 East Bay Div.
