ORDINANCE NO. 1997 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 1.12 (GENERAL PENALTY) AND CHAPTER 11.38 (RESIDENTIAL PERMIT PARKING ZONE) WHEREAS, Chapter 1.12 is the General Penalty Chapter of the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, Section 1.12.020 (Infractions) of the Municipal Code provides that any person who violates designated chapters of the Municipal Code is guilty of an infraction, punishable by enumerated fines; and WHEREAS, Section 11.38.120 provides that a violation of Chapter 11.38 (residential permit parking zone) shall be deemed an infraction and punishable by a fine of $25.00; and WHEREAS, although Section 1.12.020 (Infractions) designates as infractions several chapters of Title 11 (Vehicles and Traffic) of the Municipal Code, Chapter 11.38 (Residential Parking Permit Zone) is not one of the designated chapters; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to list all infractions in Section 1.12.020 (Infractions); and WHEREAS, it is desirable to include the penalty for a violation of Chapter 11.38 (Residential Permit Parking Zone) along with other penalties for violation of Title 11 (Vehicles and Traffic) in the Master Fee Schedule. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1.12.020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: "Section 1.12.020 Infractions. Subsection A, no changes. B. Violations of the following sections are designated punishable as infractions: (Paragraphs 1 -13, no change.) 14. Chapter 11.38, residential permit parking zone 15. Chapter 11.48, commercial vehicle regulations (Renumber existing paragraphs 14 -16 to paragraphs 16 -18; otherwise, no change.) 19. Chapter 11.68, miscellaneous parking rules. (Renumber existing paragraphs 17 -29 to paragraphs 20 -32; otherwise, no change)"
