MINUTES CITY OF PLEASANTON REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING August 18, 2009 CALL TO ORDER Mayor Hosterman called the regular meeting to order at the hour of 7:00 p.m. Councilmember Sullivan led in the Pledge of Allegiance and provided the introductory remarks. ROLL CALL Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman Absent: None City Attorney Roush reported that the Council met in closed session on 3 items. In the existing litigation of Safe Streets Pleasanton vs. City of Pleasanton, the Council authorized staff to enter into a settlement agreement, the final details of which have yet to be determined. The Council also provided direction on existing litigation, Urban Habitat Program vs. City of Pleasanton, and a conference with a real property negotiator concerning certain property along Stanley Boulevard. AGENDA AMENDMENTS – None CONSENT CALENDAR Administrative Services 1. Approved regular and special meeting minutes of July 21, 2009 City Attorney Ordinance No. 1993 2. Introduced and waived first reading of amending Chapter 6.24 of the Municipal Code concerning massage providers to conform to new state law City Manager 3. Approved a five year extension for use of the Inclusionary Unit Credits as set forth in the Affordable Housing Agreement with Ponderosa Homes 4. Accepted analysis of Commissioner Absences for the period January 1 through June 30, 2009 Community Development 5. Accepted actions of the Zoning Administrator and Planning Commission 6. Approved plans and specifications, reviewed bids, awarded and authorized the City Manager to execute contract #09-468Cwith Gallagher and Burk Inc. in the amount of $979,749 for the Overlay of Various Streets – ARRA 2009, CIP No. 095014; and authorized the Director of Community Development to approve and execute change orders not to exceed $146,962
