Resolution No. 02-114 <br />Page Two <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />Proposition 47 is supported by a large and diverse coalition including ACSA, the <br />California State PTA, California Teachers Association, California Taxpayers' <br />Association, California Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters of <br />California, Californians for Higher Education, California Federation of Teachers, <br />California Building Industry Association, California Business Roundtable and <br />local teachers across the state; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Pleasanton Unified School District has current state funding approval of <br />$7,973,706 for modernization projects either at or near completion that would be <br />funded if Proposition 47 is successful; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the District has approximately $1,992,000 in eligibility for Walnut Grove that <br /> would be funded prior to completion of the project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the District has an additional $2,400,000 in eligibility for future K-5 <br /> modernization projects for which funds would be provided from Proposition 47; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Pleasanton supports the Pleasanton Unified School <br />District and therefore supports Proposition 47, the Kindergarten-University Public <br />Education Facilities Bond Act of 2002. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 15, 2002 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br /> <br />Michael H.
