Regardless of the classification rating, wood product roof coveting materials shall not be permitted or installed in the City of Pleasanton. Exception. Existing Group R Division 3, and Group U Division 1, structures with wood product roofs may be reroofed with wood product coverings under the following conditions: 1. When the reroofing material applied is pressure fire treated. Fire treated material must be in accordance with approved national standards; and 2. The reroofing is installed as a Class B assembly as defined by Uniform Building Standard 15-2. Hazard Areas shall be defined as those areas beyond five (5) minutes driving time of fire apparatus from the fire station serving those particular districts or areas determined by the Fire Chief to be either high hazard areas or extreme hazard areas based on steepness of slope and/or fuel loadings from combustible plant materials as set forth in the Safety Element of the General Plan.
