17.3 Reimbursement for Damaged or Destroyed Personal Clothing <br /> Effective May 1, 1990, upon proper documentation the City will reimburse <br /> employees up to a maximum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for personal watches <br /> damaged in the proper performance of assigned tasks. Except for employees <br /> enrolled in a health plan providing vision care coverage or an individual vision <br /> care plan, the City shall reimburse employees up to a maximum of seventy five <br /> dollars ($75.00) for the repair or replacement of glasses damaged in the <br /> performance of assigned tasks except that glasses damaged as a result of an <br /> industrial injury shall be reimbursed under the City's worker's compensation <br /> insurance program. <br /> Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the City will reimburse employees for the <br /> reasonable repair or replacement of their personal clothing seriously damaged or <br /> destroyed in the performance of assigned duties; provided, however, no such <br /> reimbursement shall be made if the article(s) of clothing damaged or destroyed is <br /> inappropriate for the work place; damaged or destroyed as a result of the improper <br /> performance of the assigned work; damaged or destroyed as a result of an <br /> industrial injury the latter reimbursable under the City's worker's compensation <br /> insurance program. <br /> 17.4 Safety Boot Allowance <br /> Effective November 1, 2002, the safety boot allowance shall be increased to one <br /> hundred fifty dollars ($150) per year. Effective November 1, 2005, the safety <br /> boot allowance shall be increased to $160.00 per year. Effective November 1, <br /> 2008, the safety boot allowance shall be increased to $170.00 per year. The <br /> allowance shall be used for the replacement or repair of required safety boots. <br /> Effective May 1, 1992, the safety boot allowance for Street Maintenance Division <br /> employees shall be increased an additional amount per year, for each year stated <br /> above, for employees needing a second pair of safety boots. <br /> 17.5 Uniform & Safety Boot Allowance Sampling <br /> During the term of this agreement, but no later than November 1, 2004, the parties <br /> will agree on the number and type of typical uniform items that are replaced each <br /> year, as well as the typical price of safety boots. The City will then sample price <br /> changes for that typical sample every other year, and make such adjustment in the <br /> uniform and safety boot allowances as may be warranted November 1 of the even <br /> numbered years. <br /> -24 - <br />
