Section 16. Retirement <br /> As of December 7, 2002, and for the remainder of the term of this contract, the <br /> City shall replace the PERS 2% at 55 retirement formula with the PERS 2.7% at <br /> 55 retirement formula, including the following options: "Credit for Unused Sick <br /> Leave ", "1959 Survivors Third Level ", "One Year Final Compensation Option" <br /> and "Military Service Credit" option. <br /> Effective March 1, 1982, the City shall pay the employee's contribution to the <br /> Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS). The amount of said City payment <br /> shall equal, but not exceed seven percent (7 %) of the employee's compensation <br /> subject to retirement contributions and shall be reported to PERS as "special <br /> compensation ". Effective December 7, 2002, the amount of said City payment <br /> shall increase to, but not exceed, eight percent (8 %) of the employee's <br /> compensation subject to retirement contributions, and shall be reported to PERS <br /> as "special compensation." <br /> Section 17. Uniforms <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective clothing, as defined by <br /> the City Manager upon the recommendation of the Department Head. The City <br /> shall provide fifty percent (50 %) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for <br /> those Police and Fire Department employees required to wear a prescribed <br /> uniform. <br /> 17.1 City Provided Uniforms <br /> The City shall provide uniforms to certain classifications as set forth in the <br /> "Employee Uniform Program" dated December 1991. <br /> 17.2 Uniform Allowance <br /> The annual uniform allowance for senior animal services officer, animal services <br /> officer and community services officer shall be increased from $450 to $500 per <br /> year. <br /> The annual uniform allowance for property and evidence technician, police <br /> dispatcher, senior police dispatcher and fire administrative staff shall be increased <br /> from $400 to $450 per year. The allowance shall be paid in one payment on the <br /> first payday in April. <br /> -23 - <br />
