Section 9. Standby Time <br /> Standby time is that amount of specific and predetermined time that an employee <br /> is required to be on call in addition to the normal work day and shall be <br /> compensated at a rate of pay equal to twenty (20) hours of pay for each seven (7) <br /> day period spent on standby. The hours of daily standby duty for water division <br /> employees and sanitary sewer division employees shall be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. <br /> The requirement that employees in the classification of water system operator and <br /> sanitary system operator work standby shall be set forth in the job descriptions of <br /> such classifications. <br /> Section 10. Training Pay: Police Dispatcher /Community Service Officer <br /> Effective the first pay period after November 1, 1998, Police Dispatchers assigned <br /> to train new Police Dispatchers as part of a formal departmental training program <br /> shall be paid an additional five percent (5 %) of their regular hourly rate of pay for <br /> each hour of assigned training. <br /> Community Service Officers assigned responsibility to train new Community <br /> Service Officers as part of a formal departmental training program shall be paid <br /> five percent (5 %) of their regular hourly rate of pay for each hour of assigned <br /> training. <br /> Section 11. Holidays <br /> 11.1 Observed Holidays <br /> Effective March 1, 1988, the holidays to be observed are as follows: <br /> a. January 1 <br /> b. The third Monday in January known as "Martin Luther King Day" <br /> c. The third Monday in February, known as "Washington Day" <br /> d. The last Monday in May known as "Memorial Day" <br /> e. July 4 <br /> f. The first Monday in September known as "Labor Day" <br /> g. The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as "Veterans Day" <br /> h. Thanksgiving Day <br /> i. The Friday following Thanksgiving Day <br /> j. Christmas Eve Day <br /> k. December 25 <br /> -11 - <br />
