CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1238 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE pERMITTING SKATEBOARD RAMPS AS CONDITIONAL <br /> USES IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has received information concerning <br /> construction of skateboard ramps in residential zoning <br /> districts from public hearings and staff; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to control skateboard ramps by <br /> limiting their duration, location, height, time of daily <br /> operation, noise, visual characteristics and related <br /> spillover effects; <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1: Section 2-5.29 of Article 2, Chapter 2 of Title II of <br /> the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton is amended <br /> by adding subsection "b" to read as follows: <br /> ,,2-5.29 (b) Skateboard ramp. Any structure greater <br /> than two (2) feet high at its highest point <br /> containing either an inclined plane or concave <br /> surface, whether in the form of a quarter or half <br /> ellipse, which is designed for and intended for use <br /> by skateboarders." <br /> Section 2: Section 2-10.37 (Elimination of Non-Conforming Uses, <br /> Structures, and Signs) of Article 23, Chapter 2 of Title <br /> II of the Ordinance Code of the City of pleasanton is <br /> hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the phrase <br /> and time period to read as follows: <br /> ,'Removal or Alteration Required Maximum time <br /> <br /> Removal or alteration of skateboard 5 years <br /> ramps existing on February 7, 1986 <br /> in an R district- If an existing <br /> skateboard ramp is altered or is <br /> approved by a conditional use permit <br /> prior to February 7, 1991, the <br /> skateboard ramp shall conform with <br /> the requirements of this section. <br /> <br /> <br />
