Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Initial Study
No Impacts. Regarding airport hazards, no structures are proposed within the General Referral Area
and the Height Referral Area and thus the Livermore Airport would not be expected to cause any
impacts to proposed pathways and trails.
Less than Sign ficant Impact with Mitigation Incorporated: Regarding potential release of hazardous
materials, there is a slight risk that sites for new bike or pedestrian facilities may have been the location
of hazardous material storage or use.
Mitigation: For all properties where grading is proposed for new bike or pedestrian paths, an
investigation into current and historical usages should be conducted to determine whether or not
hazardous substances may be present on the site. Where concerns are identified, sampling should be
conducted to determine whether or not further measures such as an assessment of air and health
impacts, identification of any applicable standards, transportation impacts from removal or remedial
activities, or mitigation of risk of public upset should there be an accident at the site, should be
applied.
Hazardous materials impacts would result in a less than significant effect with implementation of these
measures.
Revised 9/4/09 20 9/4/2009
