My wife and I recently moved into 520A St. John
Street, directly across from Barone's. A big part of the reason we chose to live in
downtown Pleasanton was because of its old fashioned charm and family friendly
ambiance, a reputation the town has clearly worked hard to establish. We looked forward
to walking into town in the evenings, dining at local restaurants and retiring at a
reasonable hour. We now face the prospect of a much different nightly atmosphere, that
of loud music and the inevitably rowdy crowd, late into the night. Not only will our peace
quiet be affected but parking will be congested and dangerous. Should this permit
pass, you will be forcing us to move because we simply have to be properly rested for our
daily, rigorous work schedules.
I stongly urge you to vote "NO" on this proposed extention of hours and nightly music at
Barone's Restaurant. Allowing this change will dramatically affect the neighborhood by
attracting a much different crowd than the wholesome families that currently enjoy
downtown Pleasanton.
Sincerely,
Robert Painter
SUPPLEMENTAL MATERIAL
Provided to the Planning Commission
After Distribution of Packet
Date Distributed:__ /M q ..y
