ATTACHMENT 4 From: Marjorie Oxsen Sent: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 9:51 AM To: Steve Otto Subject: Barone's Request My husband, Emil Oxsen, and I live at 730 Peters Ave. This email is in response to Barone's Restaurant's request for permits for outside music Sunday Thursday until 10 pm and Fri and Sat until 11 pm and their request to remain open until 2 am. We are not opposed to Barone's request per se, but do have some concerns about having music every night of the week. Our concern is not only the music, but the resulting noise from patrons leaving Barone's after the music is over or after the restaurant closes at 2 am. Because of the parking situation, much of the noise takes place in front of our house. People do not realize how loud they are and how loud car doors are when slammed shut. One solution to this problem would be to have Barone's encourage their patrons to park in their parking lot. To this end, the parking lot needs to have more prominent signage. Right now, it is not clearly and distinctly marked. This should be a condition of their permit. We also think that music outside every night of the week is excessive. I think that it should be limited to Wed. Thursday until 9:30 pm and Friday Sat. until 10 pm. These days and times should be adequate. Sunday is a very peaceful day in the neighborhood and I think that it should stay that way. Whatever the Commission decides should be done on a trial basis, say 6 months. It is hard to tell the impact on the neighborhood until it actually takes place; this way it can be re- opened and we can make intelligent comments on the situation.
