CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1354 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING CHAPTER 9.22 (RECYCLING) OF TITLE 9 (HEALTH AND SAFETY), AND AMENDING CHAPTER 18.08 (DEFINITIONS), CHAPTER 18.20 (DESIGN REVIEW), SECTION 18.44.090 (PERMITTED AND CONDITIONAL USES - C DISTRICT8)~ SECTION 18.48,180 (CONDITIONAL USES - I-P DISTRICT), SECTION 18.48.190 (CONDITIONAL USES - I-G DISTRICT), SECTION 18.48.200 (CONDITIONAL USES - L-I DISTRICT) AND CHAPTER 18.124 (CONDITIONAL USES) OF TITLE 18 (ZONING) OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO SET OUT CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURES FOR PERMITTING RECYCLING FACILITIES IN THE COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL ZONING DISTRICTS. WHEREAS, the City Council desires to make redemption and recycling of reusable materials convenient to the consumer in order to reduce litter and increase the recycling of reusable materials; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to encourage the provision of recycling services by adopting a comprehensive and easily understood program of regulating such uses; and WHEREAS, the amendments recommended by this Ordinance are found by the City Council to be necessary to provide for implementation within the areas of the City of Pleasanton of the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act; and WHEREAS, the City Council received the Planning Commission's recommendation for approval of the rezoning; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on February 2, 1988; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Title 9 (Health and Safety) of the Municipal Code of the City of Pleasanton is hereby amendea to incluae as follows: - 1 -
