School Safety Valet of the Year Presentation <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cook-Kallio introduced Lisa Adamos, City Coordinator for the Rides to School Program. <br /> <br />Ms. Adamos said that Rides to School has selected ten outstanding fifth graders and one adult <br />volunteer who have exemplified outstanding performance as safety valets during the 2008-2009 <br />school year. Rides to Schools educates and supports 264 safety valets at various elementary <br />schools who help their fellow classmates in and out of their vehicles in an effort to expedite the drop <br />off and pick up process at our schools. Ms. Adamos also thanked Pleasanton Police Department <br />traffic Officers Aaron Acromyn, John Blanchard, Glen Cornell, Doug Jones, and Chris Neiderhaus <br />for their assistance in valet training and providing support throughout the year. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cook-Kallio read the commendation which was presented to following students: Alisal <br />Elementary School – Fabian Placencia; Fairlands Elementary School – Tommy Hertz and Adult <br />Valet John Clatworthy; Lydiksen Elementary School – Andrew Brum and Teegan Loger; Mohr <br />Elementary – Adeil Abulata; Vintage Hills Elementary School – Donovan DeSuza; Walnut Grove <br />Elementary School – Dorna Methisegi and Matthew Rooney; Valley View Elementary School – <br />Colin Hos Jeung <br /> <br />Ms. Adamos thanked Colina Bailey of Donlon Elementary who was unable to attend tonight’s <br />meeting. In closing, she thanked the students, faculty, and families for their hard work. <br /> <br />12. June 6, 2009 "Bob Moorefield Day” <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Cook-Kallio read the proclamation declaring June 6, 2009 “Bob Moorefield Day”. Mr. <br />Moorefield is retiring this year after 36 years of service as Band Director at Foothill High School <br />since its opening in 1973.
