CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA ORDINANCE NO. 1342 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING USE OF SKATEBOARDS WHEREAS, the Police Chief presented a report regarding the need to regulate use of skateboards in various locations; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The Pleasanton Municipal Code is amended to add Chapter 11.54 (Skateboards) to read as follows: ,,Chapter 11.54 SKATEBOARDS 11.54.010 General Restriction; Exception A. In those areas designated by Section 11.54.020, it shall be unlawful to ride a skateboard or other similar non-motorized vehicle on any sidewalk, street, mall, parking lot, parking garage, park or other public place. B. This prohibition shall not apply to any designated bike path. Wheelchairs and other similar vehicles for the transportation of the handicapped, baby carriages and strollers for transportation of young persons, and hand-carts and other similar vehicles used for the delivery of personal property or used in construction are excluded from this prohibition. 11.54.020 Designation of Restricted Areas The following areas are hereby designated as restricted areas for riding skateboards and similar non-motorized vehicles: A. Publicly owned tennis courts; B. Publicly owned walls; C. Any portion of construction projects, whether or not completed, located on public property. 11.54,030 Regulations for Use in Roadways Skateboards and similar non-motorized vehicles propelled or ridden in the roadways are subject to Vehicle Code Section 21967, and must: A. Stop at all signs and red signals;
