CA 94596 Itx: 925.933.024 <br /> June 1, 2009 <br /> Mr. Mike Fulford <br /> City of Pleasanton Landscape Architect <br /> 200 Old Bernal Avenue <br /> Pleasanton, CA 94566 -0802 <br /> RE: Landscape fee proposal for improvements to landscape medians on Stoneridge <br /> Drive, Stoneridge Mall Road and Springdale Avenue in Pleasanton, CA <br /> Dear Mike, <br /> In response to your request, the following proposal is submitted for landscape <br /> architectural services in connection with the landscape median improvements for the <br /> following streets in Pleasanton: <br /> 1. Stoneridge Drive, from Stoneridge Mall Road, west to Foothill Road. <br /> 2. Stoneridge Mall Road, from Stoneridge Drive to Workday Way. <br /> 3. Springdale Avenue from Stoneridge Drive, north to Stoneridge Mall Road. <br /> The median planters, currently a mix of mature shrub and tree planting with extensive <br /> cobble paved stretches, are to be updated with plant removals, new shrub planting, <br /> some tree removals and replacements, as well as potential changes in cobble paving <br /> application. All medians located on the street lengths noted above are to have <br /> completely renovated irrigation systems utilizing the existing water meter locations for <br /> water supplies. All work is to be designed in conformance with the City of Pleasanton <br /> Standard Construction Details and Specifications, as well as address the Alameda <br /> Waste Management and Recycling Board's Bay Friendly Landscape Guidelines <br /> adopted by the City of Pleasanton. <br /> Definitive services are as follows: <br /> A. Design Development and Conceptual Plans <br /> 1. Site visit and field inventory of existing conditions along all medians within the <br /> scope of work, including inventory of plant species, general plant condition and <br /> irrigation water supply locations. <br /> 2. Creation of a -file bases from City- provided 20 scale color aerial photos, for use in <br /> the development of the landscape design. <br /> 3. Development of overall conceptual landscape designs for each street condition, <br /> relating proposed plant selections and existing landscape to remain for City staff <br /> review and comment. Plant palette to be a combination of species recently <br /> introduced in similar City maintained medians in the area, providing masses of <br /> plant species applied in broad stroke compositions. Introduced tree species to <br /> have large canopy character to encourage as much shade on streets as possible. <br /> 4. Revisions to planting compositions based on City staff comment during the design <br /> development phase. <br /> II <br />
