4. Letter from Paul White, Director of Real Estate, Kiewit Construction Company <br /> 4.1 The description on Table 2 -2 does include Industrial Park. It does not include residential (or <br /> public and institutional uses) because the table describes existing and future commercial, <br /> office and industrial development. <br /> 4.2 See answer 2.1, above. <br /> 4.3 Staff recommends that any specific designation of the site for residential or other land use is <br /> deferred until adoption of a Specific Plan for the East Side. <br /> 4.4 This is an issue that should be discussed as part of the East Pleasanton Specific Plan process. <br /> 4.5 As noted on p. 3 -38, the City of Pleasanton does not support high -speed rail running <br /> through Pleasanton. It may be appropriate to discuss this issue as part of the East <br /> Pleasanton Specific Plan process; however, staff does not recommend any change to the <br /> proposed General Plan at this time. <br /> 4.6 If the City Council agrees, the Medium Density land use designation can be added to the <br /> East Pleasanton Specific Plan Area potential uses. Staff will bring this request to the <br /> Planning Commission's and City Council's attention. <br /> 4.7 As noted throughout the text, development assumptions are "placeholders" only for the <br /> East Pleasanton area. The appropriate number of residential units will be determined <br /> through the Specific Plan process and staff does not recommend any change to the <br /> proposed General Plan or the EIR at this time. <br /> 4.8 Although the Kiewit site is no longer specifically designated as General and Limited <br /> Industrial, that land use designation is shown in the "capsule" which includes all the <br /> potential land uses for the East Pleasanton Area.
