A small public plaza would
be located at the intersection of Vervais Dr. and
Main St. This plaza would be the entty to the
Arroyo and creek trail, via both a broad stairway and
a generous ADA-compatible ramp.

The OPTS Master Plan recommends a bus shel-
ter along the shorr Main St. frontage. Another iden-
tical structure is proposed for a location directly
across Main St. These two would form an entry
statement, marking the entry from the norrh into
the downtown area.

A 12-space parking area would be located on
Vervais Dr., with a lawn area, shaded by flowering
crees, between parking and plaza. The lawn and
plaza would each be possible sites for an outdoor
sculpture.

The OPTS Master Plan recommends combining
the City properties at the existing Main St. Green
and Vervais Yard. It also recommends the eventual
purchase of the next door property to the east, since
adjacent to that (and fimher to the east) is a lot cur-
rently owned by the City. This would allow for
future expansion of the Main St. Green park shown
in the OPTS Master Plan.

MAIN STREET GREEN DESIGN RECOMMENDATIONS
50
