Resolution No. 02-063
Page Two

WHEREAS, the reasons for the proposed annexation are as follows:

The proposed annexation is a logical extension of the City limits. The northern
boundary of the proposed annexation area is contiguous with the incorporated
limits of the City of Pleasanton. The City has selected the proposed area because it
includes the parcels necessary for the development of a planned municipal golf
course and open space project. This proposal will allow the City to secure its
southern boundary with limited residential development, recreational facilities
(golf course and trails), and open space consistent with the Happy Valley Specific
Plan adopted in 1998; and

WHEREAS,

this Council certifies that the proposal is in furtherance of the Happy Valley
Specific Plan, for which an Environmental Impact Report was certified and
approved by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton on June 16, 1998; and

WHEREAS,

the City has agreed to an exchange of property tax revenues with the County of
Alameda pursuant to City of Pleasanton Resolution No. 98-129 and County of
Alameda Resolution No. R-99-209.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1:

This Resolution of Application is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City
of Pleasanton, and the Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda County
is hereby requested to take proceedings for the annexation of territory as described
in Exhibit "A", according to the terms and conditions stated above and in the
manner provided by the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government
Reorganization Act of 2000.

Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
