EXHIBIT A <br /> <br /> Chapter 2.34 <br /> <br /> LIBRARY COMMISSION <br /> <br /> Sections= <br /> 2.34.010 Created. <br /> 2.34.020 Membership. <br /> 2.34,030 Vacancies. <br /> 2.34,040 Organization. <br /> 2.34,050 Meetings. <br /> 2.34,060 Duties and Responsibilities. <br /> <br /> 2.34,010 Created. <br /> <br /> There is created a library commission, hereafter referred to <br /> as the commission. <br /> <br />2.34.020 Membership. <br /> <br /> The commission shall consist of seven members. Five shall be <br />appointed by the city council. One commissioner shall be <br />recommended by the Pleasanton Library League for appointment by <br />the mayor, and one commissioner shall be a representative of the <br />Alameda County Library Advisory Commission, appointed by that <br />body. Commission members shall serve terms of three years, with <br />one-third of the appointments up in July of each year. The first <br />commission to be appointed shall, at its first meeting, so <br />classify its members by lot that three shall serve for one year, <br />three shall serve for two years, and three shall serve for three <br />years. At the expiration of each of the terms so provided for, <br />successors shall be appointed by the appropriate body for a term <br />of three years. All members, with the possible exception of the <br />ACLAC representative, shall be Pleasanton residents and shall <br />serve without compensation. Staff liaison shall be the <br />Pleasanton Library Branch Manager or his/her designated <br />alternate. <br /> <br />2.34.030 Vacancies. <br /> <br /> When a vacancy occurs in the Commission, appointment shall be <br />made to fill the unexpired term. <br /> <br />2.34,040 Organization. <br /> <br /> Within thirty days after appointment, members of the <br />commission shall meet in regular sessions and elect a chairperson <br />and vice chair. The offices of chair and vice chair shall be <br />rotated on an annual basis. <br /> <br /> <br />
