PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-2001-54 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE APPLICATION OF THE <br />CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS FOR A MAJOR <br />MODIFICATION TO AN APPROVED PUD, AS FILED UNDER CASE <br />PUD-87-22-1M <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has applied for a major modification <br />to an approved Planned Unit Development for: (1) rezoning of a 4.8-acre parcel <br />located at 3574 Vineyard Avenue from PUD-MDR/P (Planned Unit Development - <br />Medium Density Residential/Public and Institutional) District to PUD-P (Planned <br />Unit Development - Public and Institutional), and (2) development plan approval <br />for a private park on the southern 1.97 acres for church-related events; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - MDR/P (Medium <br /> Density Residential/Public and Institutional) District; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />at its duly noticed public heating of November 28, 2001, the Planning <br />Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and <br />recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission recommended approval of the Negative Declaration <br /> prepared for this project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following PUD findings: <br /> <br />The proposed development plan is in the best interests of the public health, <br />safety, and general welfare. <br /> <br />The applicants have proposed landscaping improvements that would create an <br />attractive open space area that would be an amenity to the neighborhood. The <br />types of passive recreational uses that would take place in the park would be <br />compatible with the surrounding residential uses. <br /> <br />2. The proposed development plan is consistent with the Pleasanton General <br /> Plan. <br /> <br /> <br />
