Ordinance No. 1418 <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Section 3: Section 1 (part) of Ordinance No. 1357 and <br /> Section 2.34,020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> are hereby further amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "2.34.020 Membership; compensation; staff <br /> liaison. <br /> <br /> A. The Commission shall consist of seven <br /> members, and one alternate. Five of the <br /> commissioners and the alternate shall be appointed <br /> by the Mayor, subject to approval by the vote of <br /> the City Council. One commissioner shall be <br /> appointed by the Mayor after receiving a <br /> recommendation as to the appointment from the <br /> Pleasanton Library League. One commissioner shall <br /> be a representative of the Alameda County Library <br /> Advisory Commission (ACLAC) and appointed by that <br /> body. All commissioners except the ACLAC <br /> representative shall be residents of Pleasanton; <br /> the Council encourages the ACLAC to appoint a <br /> resident of Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> B. Except for the first term as provided <br /> herein, Commission members shall serve terms of <br /> four years. The first commission to be appointed <br /> shall, at its first meeting, so classify its <br /> members by lot that two shall serve for one year, <br /> three shall serve for two years, and two shall <br /> serve for three years. At the expiration of each <br /> of the terms so provided for, successors shall be <br /> appointed by the appropriate body or person for a <br /> term of four years. <br /> <br /> C. Commission members which are appointed by <br /> the Mayor and City Council shall be compensated as <br /> established by City Council resolution. <br /> <br /> D. The Pleasanton Library Branch Manager or the <br /> Manager's designee shall be the staff liaison to <br /> the Commission." <br /> <br /> Section 4: Section 1 (part) of Ordinance No. 1217 and <br /> Section 2.36.030 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, <br /> as amended, are hereby further amended to read a~ <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> "2.36,030 Housinq Commission. <br /> <br /> ~Subsections A - E, no change). <br /> <br /> F. Compensation. Members of the commission <br /> shall be compensated as established by City <br /> Council Resolution." <br /> <br /> <br />
