CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1418 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2.28,020, 2.32.010, <br /> 2.32,020, 2.34,020 AND 2.36,020 OF THE PI2ASANTON <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING COMPENSATION OF <br /> COMMISSIONERS AND THE PROCEDURE FOR APPOINTING PARK <br /> AND RECREATIONAND LIBRARY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Section 2.28,020 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code <br /> is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br /> "2.28,020 Membership; compensation. <br /> <br /> The commission shall be composed of eight <br /> members, all of whom shall be residents of the <br /> city. Members of the commission shall be <br /> compensated as established by City Council <br /> resolution." <br /> <br />Section 2: Sections 2.32,010 and 2.32,020 of the Pleasanton <br /> Municipal Code are hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> "2.32.010 Created; appointment. <br /> <br /> There is created a park and recreation <br /> commission consisting of five members. The park <br /> and recreation commission members shall be <br /> appointed by the Mayor, subject to approval by the <br /> vote of the city council. <br /> <br /> 2.32.020 Membership; compensation. <br /> <br /> Members of the commission shall be qualified <br /> electors and shall serve for a period of four <br /> years. The first commission to be appointed shall, <br /> at its first meeting, so classify its members by <br /> lot that two shall serve for one year; two shall <br /> serve for two years; and one shall serve for three <br /> years. At the expiration of each of the terms so <br /> provided for, a successor shall be appointed as <br /> provided in Section 2.32,010. Members of the <br /> commission shall be compensated as established by <br /> City Council resolution." <br /> <br /> <br />
