ONE-YEAR OBJECTIVES <br /> <br />(January 1, 2002 - December 31, 2002) <br /> <br />THREE-YEAR GOAL: Increase public awareness of library <br />resources, services and programs <br /> <br />According to the City of Pleasanton's 2001 Public Opinion Survey, the <br />Pleasanton Library was the city facility most likely to have been used by <br />those surveyed during the two years preceding the survey. 82 percent of <br />those surveyed had been to the library. The Library has also received a great <br />deal of coverage fi.om the local media and attendance at library programs is <br />high. However, comments from focus group participants indicated that <br />some library patrons are unaware of specific library services or resources. <br /> <br />ONE-YEAR OBJECTIVES: <br /> <br />By February 1, 2002, the Head of Children's Services will publicize <br />electronic resources and services available to assist students and <br />parents. <br /> <br />By March 1, 2002, the Director of Library Services and Young <br />Adult/Adult Services Division Head will participate in the State <br />Library marketing campaign to promote library use and library <br />services. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />By March 1, 2002, the Circulation Division Head will create a <br />brochure that informs the public about all volunteer opportunities. <br /> <br />By May 1, 2002, the Reference Division Head and Young <br />Adult/Adult Services Division Head will prepare a brochure to <br />publicize the library's electronic services. <br /> <br />By December 31, 2002, the Reference Division Head and Young <br />Adult/Adult Services Division Head will develop and implement a <br />Docent Program to give tours and provide information on library <br />resources and Internet use. <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br /> <br />
