Includes $3,840,000 for various street related maintenance and improvement projects <br /> including curb and gutter replacements ($600,000), slurry sealing ($850,000), installation of <br /> traffic buttons and line markers ($400,000), sidewalk ramp installation ($920,000), annual <br /> evaluation of City streets ($120,000), and sidewalk maintenance ($800,000). The total <br /> amount exceeds the $3,600,000 included in the previous CIP by $240,000. <br /> Includes $850,000 installation of traffic signals at various locations to be determined consistent <br /> with the General Plan and the City Traffic Improvement Fees. Signal locations will be <br /> presented to the City Council prior to awarding a contract to design and install. <br /> Includes $400,000 for upgrades to the City traffic computer. <br /> Includes $330,000 for safety improvements including replacement of Crellin Road speed <br /> lumps ($30,000), bi- annual installation of traffic safety devices ($100,000), and installation of <br /> traffic calming devices based on need ($100,000). <br /> Includes $681,047 for installation of bicycle and pedestrian improvements at various locations <br /> based on need and recommendations for City commissions, committees and staff. <br /> Parks <br /> Included is $300,000 for general trails improvements as identified by the Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission, Trails Ad Hoc Committee, and staff. This funding is in addition to an existing trails <br /> reserve of approximately $1.2 million of which approximately $800,000 is earmarked as the <br /> City's share for the Alamo Canal Trail being coordinated by EBRPD. <br /> In Lieu Park Dedication fees are limited to projects related to acquiring parkland. A total of <br /> $3,479,934 is included in the four years of the CIP to fund a reserve to acquire land for a new <br /> community park(s). This amount is in addition to an existing reserve of approximately $3 <br /> million for park acquisition. While the Council has not identified a specific park location or <br /> project for this funding, one anticipated use is the City's share of the Staples Ranch <br /> Neighborhood Park. In addition, other uses may develop as an outgrowth of the General Plan <br /> update process. Finally, as part of the City's future fee study, there can be analysis regarding the <br /> potential for expanding the use of this revenue to address park development needs as well as park <br /> acquisition. <br /> A total of $225,000 to install a new roof at the Senior Center. The current roof has resulted in <br /> numerous water leaks which must be addressed to avoid damage to the facility. <br /> Miscellaneous <br /> 5200,000 is included to address storm water erosion and quality improvements.. <br /> 19 <br />
